Fanis Shakirzanau has just arrived to become a coach at the Dunedin Ice Skating Club. He was a Junior Champion of Russia in both singles and pairs skating. He has been a coach for the Belarus National team (1992 - 1999) and an International coach for South Africa (1999 - 2005).

His coaching achievements include:

• 1991-1992 - European, World and Olympic Games Champions (pair skating) – N. Mishkutenok & A. Dmitriev (Russia)
• 1992-1995 -Finalist of the European, World and Olympic Games (pair skating) - E. Grigorieva & S. Sheiko (Belarus)
• 1995-1999 - Finalist of the Junior World, European and World Championships (pair skating) E. Danko & E. Yemelianenko (Belarus)
• 1995-1999 - Finalist of the Junior World, European and World Championships (pair skating) E. Danko & E. Yemelianenko (Belarus)
